This card was issued in the UK by The British Automatic Company, Ltd. in 1953. It is card number 1 from
a set of 32 cards entitled "Dogs: A Second Series". The card was obtained from an automatic weighing
machine. The front of the card shows an artist drawn picture of the Basset Hound, while the back of the
card (if used) has the date and the weight of the person who used the machine. The overprint of "Weigh
Daily" is to encourage people to use the machines, but not bad advice for the care of a dog. It is made
of thick card.
