Deerhound

Tobacco Card 1912

This very scarce card was issued by Cope Bros. in 1912 for distribution in Denmark. It is card number 13 from a set of 50 cards which translates as "Dogs of the World" (Scandinavian Issue). The front of the card shows a delightful picture of the Deerhound drawn by the famous artist Cecil Aldin, R.B.A., while the back has a brief description of the breed (in Danish). The card was given as a free premium with the purchase of cigarettes. Quite a difficult card to find!

This 92 year old card is in Very Good condition but has some clear glue stains on the back.
