This card was issued in the UK by John
Player & Sons
(Ireland) in 1940. It is card number 33 from a set of 50 cards entitled "Dogs' Heads". The front of
the
card shows a picture of the Irish Water Spaniel drawn by the famous artist Arthur Wardle
while
the
back has a brief description of the breed. The card was given as a free premium with the
purchase of
cigarettes. This is an original card
but it is also available as a reprint. |
