This card is a reprint which was issued in the UK by the Card Collectors Society in 1998 and
was produced for its
members only. With permission
the remainder of these limited cards is now available. The
original cards were issued
by Hignett Bros. & Co. in 1936. It is card number 41 from a set of 50 cards entitled "Dogs". The
original card was
given as a free premium and was inserted into a packet of 10 Hignett Cigarettes. The front of the
card shows an artist
drawn picture of the Wire Fox Terrier
while the back of the card has a brief description of the
breed.
